PRAY FOR THE 19/70

PRAY FOR THE 1970

Students, church members and church leaders are admonished to join in a campus wide prayer movement for students on today’s college campuses. With an estimated 19 million students on campuses in the US and Canada - the equivalent of the population of America’s five largest cities and 70 % of Adventist students now attending these campuses, students are requesting prayer as they live out their faith in a highly concentrated secular environment. Students need prayer for: *life direction *choice of friends and life partners *career choice *spiritual and emotional stability *finances *academic and general campus pressure *health *family and peer pressure. Pray For The 19/70 is a request that we lift up our students in a movement of prayer asking for God’s presence in their life and a powerful witness among their friends. It is an invitation for students to pray for one another and join in an on line forum of prayer requests and answers to prayer. God calls us to “Seek Him with all our hearts” and promises that when we do, “we will be found by Him.” Jeremiah 29:13, 14. Designated Weekly Prayer Time: Thursday’s @ 9 pm (Eastern Time Zone). Daily and spontaneous prayers are always welcome and appreciated. However, the designated prayer time allows those who are able a scheduled time of prayer in a vast coordinated prayer movement where voices of earnest entreaty can be directed to God. Let’s pray for our students, faculty, university staff, God’s presence and glory on the campus. Let’s pray for students to experience God in their lives and for an increased desire to serve him with their minds, hearts and in their relationships. Let’s pray that the university will prepare them to serve God in their careers as they leave the university and enter the work place. Let’s pray for the name of Christ to praised on campus! To join in “Pray For The 19/70” you can pray by yourself or join with others in a designated prayer time on tuesday evenings or whatever time works best for your group and begin to lift up prayers for your students and campus.
